What is it lately with commercials on the telly?

They're either frightening or extremely gross. For example, look at those crazy Quizno's commercials. What the heck ARE those nasty things singing? And Arby's talking oven mitt...that's frightening too, just in a different way.

As for gross, simply look at the A-1 commercials. Who the hell wants to smear meat on someone's face and then eat it? I don't care if they've marinated themselves in A-1..that's just nasty. And the person who got the meat swiped across said face--yuck!

There's been some salsa commercial that basically involves a woman sucking salsa off her foot. Ummm..YUCK!!!

I used to enjoy the occasional commercial.. music tossed in with cars driving down country roads, dancing babies and the like. I'm thinking ad execs must be taking some pretty strong drugs.

Ick.

Last night at Scouts Trevor and Ryan got their Pine Wood Derby car kits. I was then inundated with requests for cars shaped like hot dogs in a bun, tankers, hot rods and semi trucks. I told them to hash that out with my uncle, as he's going to help them with this.

Poor Ry came home yesterday with a huge goose egg on his forehead and several bruises after falling off the swings on the playground. Didn't knock him out but from all accounts he was woozy.I called the pediatrician and he recommended Kiddo's Motrin for headache and ice for swelling as well as keeping an eye on him for certain signs. At bedtime I lay there with nightmares of concussion floating around. This morning he looked pretty chipper and the swelling was down a bit so I'm taking that as a good sign.

I'm also much more chipper and that's definitely a good thing.
