At this stage in the Spyware-hijacked-my-computer game, I'm really, REALLY irritated.

I've tried running Adaware and Spybot both, one right after the other and while they've immunized my computer, it's still not back to normal. The program appears to be gone, but whatever it did to my I.E. is still there. I still have an extra search space and I'm still having I.E. errors like crazy. I tried going to a page at spywareinfo.com that I'd used previously, one that showed me how to go in and change something in my setup to manually be able to reset my home page (just retyping it isn't sticking and YES I hit apply heh) and the stupid browser won't go there. It's almost as if the damn program knows what I'm trying to do and I can hear it's tinny little voice screaming "No! I won't let you!"

I've been trying different things off and on all day and my last ditch effort before taking a sledgehammer to this crappy thing is JohnnieV's suggestion of safe moding, etc.

Porn..whoever thought you could catch Virtual Syphilis. *sigh*

As I mentioned in the prior entry, I might be a little less frustrated if I'd done this to my own stinkin' computer...but I didn't. I didn't even get the benefit of seeing nekkid skin before my poor software contracted this creepingcrud.

Sounds like I'm talking about a sexually transmitted disease, doesn't it? Computer condoms, man. That's all I'm sayin'.
