Thoughts on Gramps

I'm better today. It's cold and rainy and blustery. Overall, it's been a productive day. I've gotten alot accomplished and still have some to do. Work tonight, after all.
Grocery shopping for the elderly is funny. It's the only time in my life I've ever purchased prune juice and rice pudding in large quantities. Gramps isn't overly picky about most things but is slightly old-fashioned. He prefers mustard in a jar to squeezable mustard containers, brown eggs to white and liquid fabric softener to dryer sheets.
After I do their laundry, I have to take Grams' over and hang it up in her cubby. Today Gramps had gone to visit her and after I was finished, I wandered into the sitting room there to find my Gramps bookended by my Grams and her sister K. Gramps was in heaven, female attention on either side and Pugsley the pooch warming his feet. It's how I'll always think of my Gramps, basking in the glow of women. He's always been a bit of a flirt (probably where my sperm donor inherited his) and I remember Grams rolling her eyes at him when I was young and him responding just with chuckles of self-satisfaction. You could almost hear him thinking, "Yep, still got it."

Ok. Enough. I need to dry my hair and get my ass in gear. Happy Friday, all. Be safe and stay dry.
