Ry's glasses

Ry-guy's glasses did, in fact, come in today and he looks adorable. He's handsome (and knows it) but also has such an expressive and earnest little face. These glasses really make his blue eyes stand out and he looks exactly as I've always described him---a wise old soul inside a small boy's body.
Too cute for words.
Avery's over as I type this and all the boys are out watching television/playing PS2. I gave them a snack as they'd all finished their dinners (gummi creepy crawlies shaped like all sorts of bugs). About five minutes after they began munching, Ryan and Avery came in because in the midst of snacking, Avery lost a tooth. Something about a loose tooth and sticky stuff...

It's overcast, settling into dusk here. The ground is saturated with rain and the drops are glistening on the trees and grass. The air is heavy and it's really very quiet. Birds are flitting through every now and again, but they're muted and sound far away. Everything smells earthy and fertile. I stood on the porch for a bit and let the random drops run down the back of my neck, just to feel it. It's a light misting, enough to create a sort of haze in the twilight hours. Beautiful in a very remote way.
