Detention and debt

Not much to report. Looks like we're to have new neighbors in Ave's old house fairly soon. There were people lugging boxes in this afternoon, so I'm figuring sooner than later, now.
Trevor came home with a detention slip today. Apparently, he'd gotten cards pulled for kicking someone (he claims accidentally) on recess and then he got grumpy and did a little stomping.
Yay. There are days that being a mom isn't quite as fun as it should be.
Why do schools inundate parents with money-making schemes first thing in the school year?
We've gotten school fundraisers, school fees, school pictures, Scout fundraisers, Fall basketball and Fall football, all in one month. It's ridiculous. Exactly how many relatives do they think these kids have? They don't encourage them to go door to door anymore, simply asking them to hit up their families. Right. We're all dripping in dough, right?
Sheesh.

On a positive note, it's been spectactularly warm the last three days. This weekend is supposed to cool us down in a big way. And poor North Dakotans---they had a piece on the news tonight, showing pictures of almost a FOOT of snow! Already! Noooooo thanks. Not for me.

The university in our town is having a big homecoming parade this weekend. It's a long and large to-do, lasts typically almost two hours and has some stupendous floats. Should be fun. After that, I'm taking the boys to a street fair not far from here. Rides galore and food. That's, of course, if the weather plays nice.

That's about all that's fit for updating. Happy Wednesday, all.
