Obituary:

H. Louise Nesbit, 90: Member of Daughters of Union Veterans

H. Louise Nesbit, 90, a resident of Ashland and of the Good Shepard Home died early Saturday morning March 11, 2006 at the Good Shepherd Home. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 10, 1915 a daughter of the late Vernon E. and Mary B. Figgins Allen. She has been a resident of Ashland since 1952 coming here from Lakewood, Ohio. She was a licensed Practical Nurse at Samaritan Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1980. In 1980 she became a sales manager for Tupperware and retired from this position in 1990. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Guild and Funeral Committee at the church. She was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, long time volunteer for the American Red Cross, former Girl Scout leader for 10 years and a member of the Literacy Council of Ashland. On June 29, 1952 she was married to Robert J. Nesbit who survives her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, AdaLou and Richard Cadwallader of Ashland, Sue Campbell of Akron, Margaret and Tom Workman, Roberta and Wayne Weiler, Kathleen and Russell Norris, all of Ashland. Two sons, Robert A. Nesbit of Wooster and James T. Nesbit of Strongsville, 32 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren all survive her. Two sisters, Anna Katheryn Friel of Lakewood and Ruth Dodge of Brunswick, two brothers, Edward L. Allen of North Olmsted and Vernon E. (Buck) Allen of Clearwater, Florida. Also surviving, are three sisters-in-law, Christine Allen of Polk, Evelyn Smith of Illinois and Margurette Harper of Westlake. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Charles and Robert M. Allen preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 18, 2006 at 10am from St. Edward Catholic Church with Father James Cassidy officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-9pm at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home. A Wake Service will be held from the funeral home at 8:45 pm on Friday. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Services of Ashland County, 1260 South Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or the March of Dimes of Central Ohio, 1070 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209.
