nixtress's Diaryland Diary

whatta weekend

Tremendously busy weekend.

I'll try to keep the description shorter than the occurences.

Worked and worked some more, then tried to find someone, anyone! in my family to keep my sons so I could finish up my Easter-bunnyness..finally, at almost worktime, I found a willing body and darted my way through the insane amounts of people to battle for the last dregs of chocolate.

Made it to work in one foul mood (exacerbated by the fact I had to work with the only male clerk we have who's a completely typical 19 yr old jackass) but on time. And then sat through an entire shift of dead air. It was horrendous..I was treated to a mental-adolescent's account of strip clubs, his version of being "in love" with a 16 yr old girl, how nookie=love, how he's such a stud, and how he's going to be a cop (shuddering at the very thought). I think it traumatized me. I don't know that I'll ever be the same.

Home to shove crinkly grass into multi-colored baskets (different colors for each boy, of course) and then stuff goodies galore in. I'm not huge on teeth-rotting things, but Easter would not be Easter without some. Care bear in one basket, soccer ball in the other. Matchbox cars snuggled into plastic eggs, funky walking chickens that lay bubble gum eggs.. I love the gadgets and gizmos.Colored eggs with their names waxed on them (a la Mom) and Yu-gi-oh cards as well.

Sleeptime was brief as an ear splitting squeak of joy was heard.

Baskets were delved in to, then showers and housework and readying for family Easter stuff.

Trip to airport was peachy keen. I'm an experience nut..watching the planes take off and land was exciting for me. Friends of mine have likened it to watching a child experience something for the first time. And comment has been made that that's why they all like to have me along..I make things novel again. So I ogled the planes, and then set myself to a nice people watch. People of all shapes and sizes..lovely stuff.

Boys are back to school today. And it seems so quiet here.

Catchup time on dlanders.
