Not much to report

It's been a quiet and basically uneventful couple of days here. I'm working again for the optometrist, still trying to make a dent in her long-as-hell HoneyDo list. It's been warm and the kids are restless so I've spent more than a fair amount of time playing referee and then playing the role of Mean Mom. The hard part is that it tortures me just as much as it tortures them---on a warm and sunny day, who wants to have kids underfoot who are bitter and pissy because they're grounded? Surefire recipe for disaster.
We've begun the drive towards school, wandering through Wally World, gathering jeans and shoes and school supplies galore. I bought (what I thought was) most of their school supplies last month but there (as always!) were more to procure.
Ave's mom has invited us to go with them to one of the indoor water parks up north of us. You rent a room for a night or two and you get full reign at the water parks. They're expensive as heck but she says it's the least she can do for all the help I've given her in the last couple months. She got her income tax back finally and said that she'd really like us to go with. I'm rather pumped. It's something I've talked with the boys about doing in the past and something has always come up to stop us. There are two in our area, one of them very new and it has a dry park area as well as the water park, huge rooms and at the same price as the older one. She's going to call about reservations tomorrow. How fun!

Overall, not much to report. All's quiet...need to knock on wood now. Difficult to believe August is upon us already. It's hard to grasp the minutes as time flies.
